In Memory

Marilyn Coburn (Kincaid)

I'm very sorry to report that I learned today that Marilyn Coburn Kincaid MD has unexpectedly passed away from complications during her chemotherapy on 6/12/2023. Marilyn was a good friend. She was also a huge supporter of our class. She was Class President for many years as well as a fundraiser, and she chaired several of our early Reunions. I will miss her. She leaves her husband Bill who has our deepest sympathy on his loss. Sadly, Marcia Lepri Coleman

Having erroneously linked Christine Stone Thomforde's obituary to Marilyn's, I scanned the internet for hers and found none. I think that is a shame as Marilyn did so much for so many people, including our class. I did find on a tribute wall, several thanks for how important she was to them, especially in the Jewish community. I would here like to commemorate what a support and comfort she was to her fellow class officers during her long stint as our "Prez." Also want to remind you all to prepare some sort of Obit for yourselves. My parents did, which the writers in the family tweaked, but at least we had the facts and knew that they wanted something left.  It does mean so much to those who know only a part of your life and want to find something to hold onto. We live on in others' memories.  Trudy

Thank you Marcia and Trudy for keeping us up to date on classmates who have passed away. I appreciate both of YOU as well, since you give so tirelessly to our class. And good idea to draft an obit for ourselves to make sure our relatives who are taxed with writing these have the facts.

I second Sally's thanks to you, Trudy, for keeping us informed of our classmates' passing.  I remember Marilyn very well, although we weren't friends as such.  She was a great person to be in a class with, because she was always paying attention.  She was nice to everybody, all the time, I think.  It is very sad to lose her, and at what I consider to be a young age!  We are grateful for her service.

I'm happy for this opportunity to post a note about my dear friend Marilyn Coburn Kincaid. She was a gem, helping this English Lit. major pass her required chemistry course and always being there with generousity and solidarity with our house group in North Mandel.

Trudy, thanks for the obit reminder. I recently lost a close friend suddenly. Makes us confront our own mortality, and think about preparations we should make. The obit was not on my list. I'll add it.  --Betty (Goodwin) Long
